Deluxe Bacon Mac & Cheese

This is super good, used this recipe with a couple additions

































INGREDIENTS: (superfills a 9x13")
16oz macaroni
6T butter
6T flour
2t onion powder
1t garlic powder
3c heavy cream
2c milk
salt/pepper, to taste
8oz velveeta or sharp cheddar
8oz shredded white cheddar
12oz real bacon bits/pieces

DIRECTIONS:
Cook the macaroni according to box directions. Set it aside.
Preheat oven to 350F.
Melt the butter in skillet over med heat. Add the flour, and stir for 1-2 min, dont let it brown. (Basically a roux)
Add the cream, milk, salt/pepper, onion powder, garlic powder into the skillet.
Simmer until thickened (about 5 min). Blend in the cheeses.
Drain the water from the pasta, then add the cheese sauce from the skillet and the bacon bits to it.
Spread in 9x13" baking dish, bake 20min.

note* This would still be good without the baking step. Baking it just makes everything congeal more.
I originally used camembert cheese (instead of where it says velveeta/cheddar) But I decided I hate the taste of it (I don't like blue cheese or gorgonzola either, but I love feta). Use whatever kind of cheese you like.
