Tortillas

recipe adapted from this
Never buy tortillas again! These are stupidly easy, and are softer/9000x better than store bought tortillas.

INGREDIENTS (makes about 8 large tortillas)
4 c flour
1 t salt
2 t baking powder
2 t vegetable shortening (Crisco)
1.5 c water

DIRECTIONS
Mix flour, salt, baking powder in a bowl.
Add in the shortening, and mix by hand until the mixture is kind of crumbly.
Add water, and stir until everything is mixed.
Preheat a skillet to med-high heat (no oil or anything).
Knead the dough a little bit on a floured surface, then break off pieces, form into balls, and roll tortillas out to desired thickness. (I still don't have a rolling pin so I rolled them as thin as I could using a Skyy bottle, probably like 1/8". We ended up liking them this way).
Use tongs or a spatula to cook each side of the tortilla in the skillet, like 30 seconds each side.

These tortillas are super soft, and don't crack when you fold them it is truly something to behold.
